Fully integrated with the Scheduler module (so that locum sessions can be added, edited and viewed alongside the Partner/employed GP sessions), the Locums module provides the facility to define Locum Session Types (e.g. short session, half day, full day etc.), each with the Practice's default price - which can be overridden for any actual sessions if required. The user can then pay for all locum sessions between specified dates and for a specified locum, and the system then facilitates the production of associated documentation e.g. remittance advices, receipts and NHS pension forms (GP Locum forms A & B). The relevant payment details are of course integrated with the Accounts module.

Locum session categories can also be defined (e.g. Dr Cuthbertson sickness cover, Dr Green sabbatical cover, PBC meeting, etc.), so that reports can be generated for a selected category and date range which can be used as claims for reimbursement where appropriate. By reference to the "Number of weeks until a Partner becomes responsible for locum costs" (this is entered as a Practice parameter in the 'Our Organisation' module), reports detailing Practice, Partner and PCT share of costs can be generated where appropriate.

The system also generates Booking Sheet reports that can be used to confirm future sessions with locums, as well as Unassigned Sessions reports (where an actual locum has not yet been booked for a required session) that can be emailed directly to all the locum GPs that are known to the Practice.
