PriDoc will add to Practice profitability via the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) under the new GMS Contract, which provides financial incentives for having certain procedures in place. Rather than simply offering ‘off-the-shelf' procedure notes, many of the modules within PriDoc provide an invaluable mechanism to enable staff to adhere to many of these procedures. For example,

The practice has systems in place to ensure regular and appropriate inspection, calibration, maintenance and replacement of equipment including: a defined responsible person; clear recording; systematic pre-planned schedules; reporting of faults.

The Risk Management module, drawing largely on information already entered via the Cash Book and Communications modules, will generate all the required schedules (with timely prompts), letters/faxes to the appropriate suppliers, and the service records. The maintenance of this procedure is worth 3 QOF ‘points' – or £360 p.a. for an average-sized Practice.

In the same way, the processes required to meet all the QOF Indicators below have been included within the PriDoc modules:

Although a Practice may already be able to achieve some (or even all) of these indicators, the facilities within PriDoc will make extremely light work of the processes – thus ensuring that the processes are followed, monitored and demonstrable. As well as the direct financial rewards from the QOF (57 points @ £120/point = £ 6840), the time saved in achieving these Indicators will be considerable.
