The main factor determining a Practice's profitability is expenditure, and the main element of this is staff costs. PriDoc is geared towards saving staff time: many of the administrative processes that are traditionally carried out manually do in fact lend themselves to ‘computerisation', and the time-saving can be dramatic. For example, by entering the basic applicant data into the Recruitment module, all the ensuing documentation is produced automatically: letters of rejection and invitation to interview, reference requests, interview schedule, offer of appointment, Contract of Employment, Job Description and Induction Programme. Additionally, by integrating functions that are often completed separately, duplication of work is avoided. So following on from the previous example, the successful candidate's details – including the agreed shift pattern – are automatically fed into the Personnel, Rota and Payroll modules.

By reducing the amount of time needed to carry out all these routine administrative tasks, PriDoc enables you to spend more time developing the Practice and maximising income – for example by concentrating on the GMS Quality and Outcomes Framework and Enhanced Services, Practice Based Commissioning, or other Practice-specific development areas.

PriDoc will add to Practice profitability via the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) under the new GMS Contract, which provides financial incentives for having certain procedures in place. Rather than simply offering ‘off-the-shelf' procedure notes, many of the modules within PriDoc  provide an invaluable mechanism to enable staff to adhere to many of these procedures.
