Statutory legislation is forever changing, and the penalties for non-compliance can be severe. Employment legislation is particularly extensive, and keeping up-to-date with the latest requirements would be extremely time-consuming.

As a result, many Practices – in common with other small businesses – risk litigation, which could come in the form of an Industrial Tribunal or a Health and Safety Executive action, prosecution under the Disability Discrimination Act, or other comparable event.

PriDoc goes much further than the generic packages commercially available from which ‘off-the-shelf' policies etc. can be printed. This is because the system is comprehensive and fully integrated – so that, for example, the Staff Contracts of Employment automatically contain all of the individual employee parameters already ‘known' to the system. The generation of the actual Contracts of Employment that comply with the latest employment legislation therefore becomes a simple process.

In a similar way, having entered the purchases of equipment into the Cash Book module, where appropriate the relevant Inventory will be updated in the Risk Management module, so that the schedules for Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), risk assessments, calibration, maintenance, insurance etc. are easily managed – thus making light work of compliance with these elements of Health and Safety and other legislation.
